Hi Folks,

Just wanted to let you know that a choral group I am newly a part of will be performing a concert on Saturday, December 1, and Sunday, December 2, in Hamilton and Newburyport.

I think it promises to be excellent concert.  It’s an interesting program of (almost) all New England composers, which is kind of cool, and many women composers, which is cool, as well.  The group is pretty amazing.  I had to audition to get in (which was frightening!) and everyone in the group is highly disciplined and committed to the music.  It’s quite something to be a part of, and it keeps me on my toes!

In addition to William Billings, Randall Thompson, Amy Beach, James Woodman, and Gwyneth Walker, we are also doing a set by Usaye Barnwell, a composer known for compositions performed by Sweet Honey in the Rock.  Hearing that style of music performed by a tight 44-voice “chamber” choir is pretty amazing.

If you are interested in attending, you can either get tickets at the door, or I could get you tickets ahead for a slightly reduced fee.  STUDENTS ARE FREE!  More info at www.cantemus.org

I’d love to see you there!
